Our first two-day long seminar for summer 2017 is over. We explore the potentials of Saggar firing technique, at low fire temperature, using materials easily accessible, based on copper and iron.
Accurate and critical issues have been raised over the practices of Saggar firing, while a series of conclusions and several information have been emerged and recorded, in order for the participants to understand the method and take advantage of the prospect for a further research.
Some of the results helped us to understand this peculiar decoration process and some others made us admire the richness of the surfaces achieved through this unique method, which we had the honor to present.
With anxiety and pleasant impatience, we are now heading to our next topic “Raku – the origin”, on 19-20/07/2017, which is expected to be full of creative surprises.
